Young People's Series
There is considerable variation in the designs of the covers of the different
books of this series, and also in the different editions of the same numbers.
Until Beadle moved to 118 William Street, in October, 1862, and for a few months
afterwards, the books were put out in the small size, 5 ¾ by 3 ¾ inches
or thereabouts, and with buff wrappers. Later printings of all occur with orange
wrappers and of the standard size of the Dime Novels.
As in the preceding series, the numbers in the list below are not numbers assigned
by Beadle, but are those shown in the tabulation at the beginning of the discussion
of the Handbooks, and are given simply for convenience in determining
the sequence of publication.
