Frank S. Winthrop may be the true name of the writer of a few sketches in the Banner Weekly in the middle 1880's, and of one Half-Dime Library. For the Weekly he wrote "Roughing It in the Rockies," in No. 101, suggestive of true experiences. "Billy Bombshell" compares very favorably with the best of the stories for boys in the Half-Dimes.
