1 | In the Saturday Journal, X, No. 504, "In the Web; or, The Girl Wire's Trials," is mentioned as one of the novels written by Campbell especially for Beadle and Adams. It appeared under Campbell's name in Boy's Library (quarto edition), no. 3 and Boy's Library (octavo edition), no. 2 but under the name "Edwin South" in Saturday Journal/Star Journal (various title changes), no. 61 and Beadle's Weekly/Banner Weekly (various title changes), no. 618. In Saturday Journal/Star Journal (various title changes), no. 68 , an editorial reply to a correspondent says: "Yes, Mr. Bartley T. Campbell or Pittsburgh is 'Edwin South'," and in Saturday Journal/Star Journal (various title changes), no. 75 the two names are united thus "Bartley T. Campbell (Edwin South)." |
