Ronald M. Smith, a well-known East Anglian journalist who wrote many poems, short articles and stories for Cassell's Magazine and other periodicals, collaborated with Samuel O. Beeton in writing "Livingstone and His African Explorations." This book was put on the market as an offset to Stanley's "How I Found Livingston," which appeared about the same time. Smith also wrote "The Cotton Supply Question in Relation to India," published in London in 1862. He died in 1899.
