Launce Poyntz,⁽¹⁾ said by some to be a play on the words "Lance Points," was a pen name of Frederick Whittaker. The two names are given together in several novels,⁽²⁾ and other novels were published under both names⁽³⁾ in different editions. Poyntz's novels are listed in this book under the name Whittaker.
