(Paul Bibbs. The Squaw Guide.) March 17, 1885.

Found in: Starr's American Novels, no. 89; New Dime Novels, no. 598.

The cover and title page of this novel actually read:
"Charles Howard: "The Squaw Spy; or, The Rangers of the Lava-Beds." However the novel itself is Paul Bibb's "Squaw Guide; or, The Red River Rifles," as indicated above. In fact, on the first page of the text, the sub-title is given as "The Red River Rifles," and the story is the same as Starr's American Novels, no. 89. Howard's story, "The Squaw Spy," was printed in Starr's American Novels, no. 131, New Dime Novels, no. 361, and Pocket Novels, no. 97. In the lists on the backs of other Dime Novels, the error is repeated. The error was probably due to a pick-up of the wrong stereotype plates.
