Knox, Jackson.

It has been suggested that "Jackson Knox" was a pen name of T. C. Harbaugh. No verification of this has been found, and since these tales do not sound like Harbaugh and the author knew his New York too well for that mid-Western writer, they are temporarily left under the name given in the by-lines.

† In Beadle's Banner Weekly, October 22, 1887, the name is given as 'Jackson Knox (Old Hawk).' A short excerpt of a story by Knox is given in Vol. I, page 222, No. 444.
