Dumont, Daniel Boone.

According to Miller,(1) Daniel Boone Dumont was a pen name of Frank Dumont. But the type of story is so entirely different from those written by Frank Dumont that this is unlikely. There seems to be nothing to connect the two except the name. Furthermore, with the exception of one chapter in a composite story, "Jubilee Joe," written by several Beadle authors for the Banner Weekly in 1885, Frank Dumont's stories were published in the Half-Dime Library between 1879 and 1881, while Daniel Boone Dumont's stories were published in the Dime Library between 1886 and 1889. Under the name Frank Dumont only one story was published in the Dime Library. The sterile interval from 1881 to 1886 seems clearly to indicate a different writer. Tentatively, the Daniel Boone Dumont stories are here listed separately.
