She wrote for Bow Bells (London) from 1866 on, and poetry for Once a Week as early as 1864. Among her novels were "By Order of Queen Maud," "Venus at School," "The Rose and Shamrock," "The Yellow Diamond," "Lestelle," "The Cost of a Secret," "Two Pearls," "Golden Fairy," "Woman's Wiles," and "Held in Thrall." She died of influenza, after forty years of productivity, early in 1895.
