Nicholas William Busteed, a well-known New York lawyer, was born in Ireland in 1814 and died December 11, 1872. His grave is in Greenwood Cemetery, Brooklyn. George C. Jenks, who said that Busteed was "formerly a prominent member of Tammany Hall," apparently confused him with William H. Busteed, who was a member of Tammany and who died at Woodmere, Long Island, September 8, 1924.
Only one story by Busteed was published by Beadle. It appeared in four editions.
