American Library Tales
the American Library Tales, issued by the London branch of Beadle in 1862, is really not a new series of novels at all. Each volume of this series simply contains, in cloth covers, three previously published American Library novels, that is, three of the English edition Dime Novels. They were all bound from the separate novels, without repagination, and sold for three shillings a volume. Except for the fact that the series received a new name, they might be regarded as American Library
novels issued in publishers' cloth. Four volumes were issued. Volume I appeared in April, 1862, volume II in April, volume III in May, and volume IV in August.
