The Frank Starr's Ten Cent Pocket Library

Frank Starr's Ten Cent Pocket Library (Fig. 60), the first number of which appeared about May 4, 1877, was issued under the imprint of Frank Starr & Co., 41 Platt Street, at the corner of William Street. This series appeared in an entirely different form from any other Beadle publication. The booklets are small, fat 32mos, 5 by 3 ½ inches in size, with 100 to 160 pages and a colored illustration on the front cover. They sold for ten cents each. The last issue, No. 5, appeared July 15, 1877. The format, apparently, was unsatisfactory to publishers or readers.
